Avocados from Málaga: Growing from the Countryside
Published in SUR
The rise of avocado in the province of Málaga is not only measured in cultivated area. Also in how it is produced, selected and reaches the consumer. On farms like those in Casares, between the Costa del Sol and the Serranía de Ronda, that journey is carefully managed under a model that seeks more than volume: consistent quality, planning and a direct relationship with the market that allows each phase of the process to be fine-tuned.
Behind this approach is Avocoop, a company born from the union of three companies with complementary backgrounds in production, distribution and international expansion, with Mercadona as its main client in the domestic market. A strategic union for the perfect synergy. "We understood how complementary we were to each other and, above all, that we shared a common vision of where the avocado industry is heading," explains its executive chairman, Kiko Claros.
